Dormouse Books

Dormouse Books is an independent bookshop and community interest company. All our profits go towards free community events and gifting books to local school libraries. We’re run by Stephanie and Tracy. We love independent presses, books in translation, essays, literary fiction and poetry. We have a lovely children’s section, with picture books, graphic novels, and chapter books for emerging readers up to young adults. We curate our shop carefully because we don’t have much space but we can order anything. If you don’t find it on the shelf, we can get it and it usually comes within three days. We are super friendly, have a beautiful coffee machine and try to make use of it by offering free tea, coffee and hot chocolate. And we have comfy, little chairs to sit in while you sip coffee and read. We are dog friendly too. And we have a little cellar where we keep everything gothic. We themed it around Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat, a macabre tale about madness and murder; ghosts and guilt. Come in and meet us and buy books from bookshops rather than billionaires.
